Our family has been mining for sapphire in the New England region of NSW, Australia for more than 50 years, spanning three generations. At present we are mining in the Kings Plain area. We are fortunate enough to have two of our sons working with us at the mine, as well as four other loyal colleagues, some have been with us for more than 25 years.
Our journey in the sapphire mining business, although arduous and long, has also been rewarding, introducing us to many interesting people all over the world. We have always exported and sold our sapphire in the rough state direct from the mine to cutting factories, but over the past few years we have made the progression into faceting the sapphire ourselves and selling it on the world market, promoting it as an Australian product. This has been done in affiliation with a factory in Thailand, and I am pleased to say that this has created great opportunities for the many workers we have there.
Contacts all over the world, including USA, China, Europe and Russia, have appreciated our beautiful Australian sapphire. A small portion of this cut sapphire is being set for "My Sapphire" into handmade jewellery.
I carry out all the design work myself and spend many hours meticulously drawing rings, pendants and earrings to scale. Our unique position of being the miner, and having our own facilities to cut and set our sapphire, gives us an ideal opportunity to be able to bring to you, at a more than affordable price, a genuine and natural local sapphire from the Inverell, Kings Plain district of NSW Australia.
This beautiful deep blue sapphire recently featured on the shopping channel TVSN resulting in a complete sell-out.
My small business has one main aim. That is to make "My Sapphire" yours at a realistic price, and to ensure your purchase is a genuine, natural sapphire.
